Electrode Resistance

This module is useful for general electrophysiology experiments, especially in seal formation (e.g. calculation of electrode and seal resistance). It has 4 modes:

  • I = 0 : set the amplifier to I=0 mode and output the current voltage.
  • V-test : set the amplifier to Vclamp mode and apply a square wave voltage clamp of user specified amplitude and duration. The calculated resistance is displayed.
  • I-test : set the amplifier to Iclamp mode and apply a square wave current injection of user specified amplitude and duration. The calculated resistance is displayed.
  • holdingPotential : set the amplifier to Vclamp mode and apply a user-specific holding potential. The measured current is displayed.

Additionally, it includes a “ZAP” button which applies a brief current injection of user-specified amplitude and duration.
